Its Christmas!
Vivian had a long night of partying on Christmas Eve (we had dinner with a group of Nike families and kids!), and slept in on Christmas until 7:15! Here she is, her usual happy self first thing in the morning. Little does she know the fun that awaits her in the living room!

Vivian immediately noticed that something very interesting had happened under the Christmas tree. She was pretty excited when she realized that it was all for her.

We didn't wrap her gifts because a) she doesn't really "get" unwrapping yet, and b) we didn't have any paper. But that didn't matter at all. She got plenty of gifts from grandparents back home in the U.S., including a Little People playset, a rotary dial phone (rotary dial? what's that?), two new fuzzy animals (one on wheels!) and a cozy fuzzy cap for our cold winter days.
After the gift bonanza and breakfast, we dressed Vivi up in her Christmas dress and had a little portrait session. She was quite cooperative! I've posted more of the portraits on the Flickr link on the right of this page.
To finish up our holiday, we loaded Vivian up in the new Kelty kids backpack we were given a family gift, and went for a hike. It was a beautiful, clear, not-too-cold day and Vivian had a great time in the pack. Can't wait to use it on the trip to New Zealand! We leave on Jan 2.
