Seoul City

We (finally!) made our first trip to Seoul. Seoul is less than 3 hours from Busan by high speed train, which was really very comfortable and convenient. Vivian and Kiley rode up on Friday, Bruce joined us after returning from a trip to Thailand on Saturday, and on Sunday, our friend Marcia (American expat living in Sri Lanka) flew in for a visit. It was a great weekend. We ate good food (a real hamburger and real Italian food), browsed the antique furniture shops, and Kiley even found a grocery store that stocks hard to find imported food products. Below are some pictures of our short hike into the rugged hills of Seoul to visit some sacred Buddhist/shamanist sites. We saw the usual temples, but the ones here were a little different in that they featured spectacular paintings of wild animals.


The weather was cold and crisp, which did nice things for Vivi's peaches and cream complexion!
Viv got to do a little rock climbing with Dad...and we got to view the remains of the ancient Seoul city wall.
