Vivi and Dia

Dia is Vivian's newest friend. Dia is an American girl from Illinois, who moved to Qingdao just two weeks after we did. She lives with her family just a stone's throw from us. Dia is actually a couple of months younger than Vivian, but she has the behavior and vocabulary and mature way of speaking that makes me think she's at least 4! Must be her older siblings. Today Dia came over to play after school. She and Vivian spent an hour playing dress-up, "cooking," and coloring. They play really nicely together: there were no tears, arguments, or fighting!

BTW, Dia is one of only seven three year olds in our neighborhood!
