I'm a big girl now

New baby sweater design

If you've been wondering what I do during my days now that I don't work (ha!) and spend my days eating bonbons and ordering the domestic help around, here's a glimpse. I have been knitting and crocheting quite a bit since I discovered several Korean yarn shops. I even have a gaggle of new knitters that I am teaching (The Nike Knitters - catchy, huh?).

My latest completed project is a baby sweater in a yummy shade of pink merino wool. I designed and knitted it for my Dutch friend Helma who had a baby girl last month. The pattern is based on a simple sweater in Erika Knight's book Simple Knits for Cherished Babies. I modified the plain stockinette stitch by adding vertical slip stitch columns, eyelet ridges, and an all-over simple eyelet motif for the yoke.

I added turn-back cuffs with a slip stitch edge. I finished it off with I-cord ties in back and a crocheted picot edging around the neck.
